Laurel Kennedy - Principal
As a published author [The Daughter Trap, St. Martin’s Press] and president of several communications companies, Kennedy knows what it’s like to be on the media firing line, and to have a firm’s future outlook influenced by your statements. That visceral experience has attuned Kennedy to the unique needs of senior executives facing stressful and demanding crises situations that put every ounce of their wile and expertise to the test.
Kennedy has proven a popular “talking head” and presenter, appearing on national television including CNBC and Comcast TV, Talk Network Radio, as an expert witness in the Superior Courts, and as a keynote speaker before numerous industry and corporate forums. Kennedy’s opinions and innovative solutions have garnered headlines in a variety of media including Yahoo! Finance, Forbes.com, , Morningstar.com, the Copley News Service, Irish Times, Dallas Morning News, Hollywood Reporter and Advertising Age, to name a few.

She holds the MBA with honors from the world-ranked University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where her honors thesis explored the impact of gender differences on field sales performance.
Paula McMartin Hahn - PR and Crisis Management
Like her hero, NY Yankee great Roger Maris, Paula believes that “You hit home runs not by chance, but by preparation.”
That philosophy has served her well during an award-winning 25 year career in public relations, helping clients proactively address business-critical issues and crises. Combining experience garnered at the global (Ketchum, Porter Novelli) and boutique agency (Marina Maher Communications) levels with in-house corporate experience, Paula has helped brands like Aveda, Dawn, Pepsi and Six Flags neutralize potential crises and stage headline-generating special events.
Paula has provided counsel and guidance to the senior execs in companies such as Dannon, Miller Brewing, Urban Decay and Volvo dealing with issues and crisis situations. These scenarios ranged from packaging and food-related issues related to nutrition, ingredient safety, sugar/salt and obesity to public safety, unfounded social media rumors, consumer boycotts, strike threats and more.
For the past 10 years Paula has evolved into a Social Media expert ultimately creating a mash-up of crisis/issues experience with Social Media savvy. She's best known for her work with clients, teaching them how to manage complaints, rumors and misinformation in the 24/7 digital world.
Melissa M. McDill - Creative Director
Melissa has a fierce commitment to ensuring her clients' success, with a creative flair that is grounded in a strategic, analytical mindset. Melissa relishes the challenges that come with the search for creative marketing solutions, and is known for coming up with unique ideas that make her clients stand out. Melissa holds a degree from the California College of the Arts and has been recognized with numerous marketing and design awards.
Lisa Hansen - Marketing Director
Lisa has more than 15 years of marketing experience, working across a wide range of industries, from technology to packaged goods. At TKO she is responsible for developing new business opportunities, and for leading the execution of client marketing programs. Lisa is known for her sound strategic thinking, and excellent writing and presentation skills. An information junkie, she is a voracious reader, making her a valuable information resource for our clients when it comes to recognizing market trends and driving social media strategies. While finishing her BA at UC San Diego Lisa was on the editorial team of TransWorld SURF Magazine, where she earned a Times Mirror Innovation Prize for her role in the publication’s initial success.
Rachaelle McCorkle - Account Executive
Rachaelle is TKO’s resident expert at managing the vast array of projects we handle on a daily basis. At UC San Diego, Rachaelle earned a Bachelor of Science degree, a minor in French Literature and membership to the Phi Sigma Theta honors society. Her keen eye for detail and varied experience in entertainment law, nonprofit management, event planning and project management provide TKO’s creative team with a solid organizational foundation.
Liz Serafin - Account Executive
Hailing from the Tar Heel state, Liz earned a degree in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her lively energy and natural knack for writing enhances the TKO creative team. Couple this with a strong background in interpersonal skills and you get a keen ability to connect with clients and actualize desired marketing goals and messages.
David Padron - Art Director
With more than 13 years of industry experience, David brings a keen eye for graphic design that meets client objectives and sets brands apart. Growing up with a passion for art, Padron holds a BA in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from California State University, Fresno. Highly skilled in illustration, David is continually learning and applying new trends, case studies and examples of progressive typography. With a specialization in food, beverage and fresh category package design, David thrives on the opportunity to display his distinct style on any given project.
Ken Berry - Digital Media Developer
Ken has more than fifteen years of design and production experience, making him an invaluable member of the TKO team.
